Inventory - Blushes & Highlighters

It's official, thanks to Liz of beautyreductionista, I have become a blush whore! Well, my scaled down version of blush-whore.

I did my first inventory post to keep track of what I had so as to stop me to from buying dupes, and this is a continuation of that goal.  Please note, if you are a REAL blush junkie, this isn't the post for you.  If you have a normal amount of blushes, then it is!

But back to Liz, I commented on her blog some months ago that I only owned 2 blushes and she kind of encouraged me to explore.  I decided to find out for myself  what the big deal is with blush, so I bought a few:)  I've gone from two to five, woohoo!!  Lol, I included my highlighters just to beef it up a little.

Blushes
NYX Cinamon & Desert Rose, NARS Liberte, CHANEL Blush De Horizon, Bobbi Brown
NYX Cinamon - This is a really good orangey colour for the summer, and it makes me look peachy and tan.  It's very pigmented so I would use it with care.

NYX Desert Rose - This is the one that Liz recommended.  She said she felt like this would work even on my NW43 skin.  She was right, I love it.  I'm actually surprised that I was afraid of it when it's almost similar to the Bobbi Brown in colour.

NARS Liberte - still kicking myself for waiting so long to grab this!  It's gorgeous!  I've always been scared of NARS blushes coz they are too shimmery but this... perfection! I even use it as a well-blended eyeshadow when I want a simple look.

CHANEL Horizon De Blush - had to snag this one off a blog sale and I totally love it.  For my first "pink" blush, I think chose just right.  Not too bright and scary, and a subtle glow.

Bobbi Brown Blush in Plum - this was my first real foray into blush about 2 years ago.  For the longest time, this was my only blush and I was quite happy with it as blushes were not something I felt I needed.  It's a great matte formulation, and stays on my face all day.  Highly recommended.

Highlighters

CHANEL Soleil Tan de Chanel in Terre Amber - I believe I'm on my third one of these.  One my daughter broke, and I gave the second to my sister who lives in Africa where Chanel is EXORBITANTLY priced.  And I'm seriously guarding this third one.  I like the subtlety - just a nice glow.  Will keep purchasing this for as long as they keep making it.

Estee Lauder, Milani and CHANEL on the bottom row.
Milani Baked Bronzer Pressed Powder - Can you say Glitter Bomb?  Eeep!  I was trying to be cheap and looking for a dupe for the Chanel bronzer.  But this is just a glitter mess, and no glow.  I may use it on my decollete here and now, but really, any day now it's going to end up in the rubbish.

Estée Lauder Pure Colour Illuminating Powder Gelee - Pure heaven!  I can't wait for Estee Lauder to release the next version of this.  I reach for this even on my "no make-up" days.  I always get the most compliments when I wear this; people will literally tell me that I am glowing!  Highly recommended, if you can get your hands on it, grab it.  Just a word of caution, use a light hand with this one;)

So... that's what I call my blush collection.  Not much to write home about, but it makes me happy and provides a great starting point.  What about you?  How many do you own - 5, 10, 20?  More??

Stay Blessed.

  1. LOL! "Scaled down blush whore" - LOLOLOL

I hope I didn't encourage total insanity and madness but I totally love your picks. I'm so into more vibrant, blazing shades like the ones you posted here. Am glad that you're enjoying the blushes in all their glory. :D
